How to make a delivery challan here

  1. Type your business details once. Name, address, state and GSTIN. Saved businesses appear as suggestions as you type.
  2. Add the consignee and choose the purpose. The consignee is whoever receives the goods: a customer, a job worker or your own branch. Pick the purpose: Job work, Supply on approval, Sale (invoice to follow), Branch or stock transfer, or Other.
  3. List the goods. Description, HSN code, quantity and unit. Saved items come up as suggestions. Rates are optional; tick the GST box if you want the value with tax printed.
  4. Fill in the transport. Vehicle number, transporter name and LR or docket number, so the copy travelling with the goods matches the e-way bill.
  5. Save, then Print / PDF or Share. Choose how many copies to print (1 to 3): Original for consignee, Duplicate for transporter, Triplicate for consignor, each on its own page. Share sends the PDF through WhatsApp or any app on your phone.
  6. Goods sold or back? Set the status to Goods returned when job work or approval goods come back. If the buyer keeps them, press Make invoice: the invoice maker opens with the same customer and items.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then. One file holds every document, customer and item, and restores them on any other computer or phone.

Guides

Questions people ask

Is this delivery challan maker free?

Yes. Making, saving, printing and sharing delivery challans is free, with no login and no limit. A small line at the bottom of the page says where it was made.

When should I use a delivery challan instead of an invoice?

When goods move without a sale at that moment: job work, goods on approval, stock moved to your own godown under the same GSTIN, goods for repair or an exhibition, or when the quantity is only known after delivery. For a normal sale the tax invoice should go with the goods.

How many copies of a delivery challan are needed?

Three: Original for consignee, Duplicate for transporter and Triplicate for consignor. Choose 1 to 3 in Print copies; each copy prints on its own page with its marking.

Should a delivery challan show GST?

The rules ask for the taxable value, and the tax rate and amount when the goods move for a supply to the consignee. For job work and stock transfers you usually show the value only. GST is off by default here; tick it to print the tax.

Do goods on a challan need an e-way bill?

Yes, if the consignment is worth more than ₹50,000 (some states use a higher limit inside the state). Job work to another state needs one whatever the value. See challan and e-way bill.

How long can goods stay with a job worker?

Inputs must come back within 1 year and capital goods within 3 years. Moulds, dies, jigs, fixtures and tools have no limit. See challan for job work.

How do I turn a challan into a tax invoice?

Save it, then press Make invoice. The invoice maker opens with the same customer and items. Add rates if they were blank, choose the invoice number and date, check and save. The challan is marked Invoice made.

Can I print a challan on a thermal printer?

Yes. Choose thermal roll paper in the maker; A4 and A5 are there too.
